Ways to Support WGDR

Donations directly support our general operations and build our capacity so we can do more with and for our community. In short, money moves our mission to be a platform for sparking social change, creating human connections, and amplifying local voices and content.

There are lots of ways to support us: one-time, sustaining, stocks or IRAs, set up planned giving via a bequest, or give by underwriting or sponsoring from an organization or business. Details on these ways to give, below. CVCR’s Tax ID is: 85-4104908.

Sustaining Support - A Monthly Donation

Community radio is where you get your news, music, and local views. Please consider becoming a sustaining donor, like a subscription to other media platforms, with a recurring payment from your credit card online. You can also ask your bank to send us a check directly each month (saves us the fees) or send us your own check each month as detailed above. Join the dozens of other sustainers today for as little as $5 or more.

Gift of Stock

Stock gifts or other appreciated securities are a great way to give. By transferring stocks directly to WGDR, you may receive tax benefits while supporting our programming, and could avoid capital gains taxes on appreciated stock. Please contact us directly and we can help you set this up.

IRA Charitable Rollover

Folks 70 years old or older can give up to $100,000 (and up to $200,000 for married couples) from your IRA directly without having to pay income taxes on the money. The gift can be used as your required minimum distribution.

Have your financial institution issue the check directly to Central Vermont Community Radio. You’ll need to make the gift by December 31 to qualify in the current tax year. Contact your IRA provider or visit their website to obtain a simple form to complete. If you have questions, contact us.

Planned Giving

If you are thinking of how to leave a lasting legacy and impact on WGDR, consider adding us to your will, trust, or estate plans. You can ensure future generations have access to community radio here in Vermont. This can look like a number of things - a bequest, charitable remainder of trusts, or gifts of life insurance.
