WGDR programmer Merry Gangemi to Speak at Stanford University

Merry Gangemi, producer and host of WGDR’s Woman-Stirred Radio, has been invited to speak at a Stanford University lecture series titled: “Imagining Women: Writers in Print and in Person.”

Gangemi will talk about the origins of Woman-Stirred Radio and its evolving mission. By focusing on gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, and queer (GLBTQ) writers, visual artists, musicians, policy-makers, and academics, Gangemi believes that Woman-Stirred Radio empowers, promotes, and supports the broad diversity of local, national, and global GLBTQ culture. Professor Valerie Miner, Artist in Residence, and Michelle R. Clayman, Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University, extended the invitation to Gangemi. The lecture series will also feature Aimee Phan, Katheryn Ma, Ernestine Saankalaxt’ Hayes, Camille Dungy, Amber Flora Thomas, and Cherrie Moraga.
