As a forum for cultivating social justice, stewardship of the natural world, and the independent arts, Goddard College Community Radio (GCCR) fosters local and global community building and resilience through the broadcast of information, audio arts, and moderated dialogue.
GCCR is a model hybrid college-community radio station and living laboratory for knowledge production in the 21st century. Community volunteers, staff, faculty, and students work together to serve listeners and learners through high quality programming and online content, informed by Goddard College’s values and the ethical guidelines of non-commercial, educational community radio.
This is WGDR’s new mission, one that takes its cues from our recent listener and licensee survey. At its core are social justice, education, ethical communication and community connection. These principles are the truest reflection of you, our listenership, and the educational aims of our licensee, Goddard College.
This small, but mighty station is the most rare and precious of resources in a media landscape overrun by corporatized, mainstream propaganda and sensationalism. The preservation of this community station is a responsible action we can share here in Central Vermont, but also one we can share with the world.
