Thursdays 9-10:30 am
Hosted by Carl Etnier, Relocalizing Vermont explores how to strengthen the local economy in a time of energy constraints brought on by peak oil and other factors. To relocalize is to return to local production of food, energy, and goods. The show also explores maintaining and strengthening democracy, a pre-condition of local control.
Part 1 (8:30 – 9:00) consists of Resilience Thoughts, Bucky Buckaw’s Backyard Chicken Broadcast, and calendar announcements. Part 2 (9:00 – 10:00) generally consists of interviews with one or more guests. Usually they are locally produced and live; sometimes they are drawn from syndicated shows with similar themes, like Radio Ecoshock or Sea Change Radio. Recordings from locally delivered talks or stories sometimes appear, as well. Music, mostly local, is interspersed throughout the show.
