Coming up tomorrow, Thursday 1/18: on Relocalizing VermontVermont’s maple producers are gathering to discuss the state of the industry, and a Brattleboro man explores “ecopsychology."9:00 - 10:00 amSugaring season is still a ways off, but Vermont sugarers are getting ready. And they’re holding two conferences over the next two weekends to learn more from one another and outside experts. UVM Extension Maple Specialist Mark Isselhardt will give us an overview of what maple producers are thinking about these days. Dave Cohen is probably better known to listeners for his work with electric bicycles and cargo bicycles, but he has also used his psychotherapy work to think about “ecopsychology." That’s an approach that deeply considers us – our minds, bodies, and senses – and our felt relationships to the ecological and social worlds we inhabit. Questions range from whether rivers, mountains, and trees have rights to how psychology and therapy can be useful in a time of stark ecological realities. (For those who will be in the Brattleboro area next week, he’s giving a talk on the subject on Tuesday, January 23.)10:00 - 10:30 amResilience Thoughts, a locally told Extempo story, plus upcoming events related to energy, food, and the local economy at the end of the age of oil. Please tune in!
