Hi folks,Carl Etnier hosts Relocalizing Vermont Thursday, 9:00 - 10:30 am Eastern, on WGDR Plainfield 91.1 FM / WGDH Hardwick 91.7 FM / streaming at wgdr.org9:00 - 10:00 amJust a few years ago, author Philipp Warburg was finishing a book on wind energy--and he thought solar energy was far from becoming a meaningful source of power. Now, he's amazed at its progress: In 2014, solar accounted for a third of all new US generating capacity. In Harness the Sun, he describes what's driving the solar economy--and the backlash it's provoking. Vermont has its own thriving solar economy--and backlash against it. Adam Lougee is a member of the state's Solar Siting Task Force, which is to develop recommendations for design, siting, and regulation of solar energy projects. He's also working to find common ground among members of the Addison County Regional Planning Commission, which he is the director of, on solar siting. Gabrielle Stebbins is director of Renewable Energy Vermont; she'll talk about the state of the solar industry here in Vermont, and its views on what solar should look like and where it should be. 10:00 - 10:30 amResilience Thoughts, Bucky Buckaw's Backyard Chicken Broadcast, plus upcoming events related to energy, food, and the local economy at the end of the age of oil. Please tune in! ...
