May25Saturday: 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Hosted by Mark Michaelis, alternating Saturdays, 4:30-7:30pm (Alternating with Bluestockings’ Ball)
Since 1990, Acoustic Harmony has brought the music of contemporary folk artists and acoustic singer songwriters to the airwaves of central Vermont. Hosted by Mark Michaelis, and heard on alternating Saturdays from 4:30 – 7:30pm, Acoustic Harmony is the place to hear the great independent folk artists not heard on commercial radio stations. Live, in studio interviews and performances by local and nationally touring artists are also a regular feature of the program. Playlists are regularly posted to the Folk DJ list, the Roots Music Report and the Freeform American Roots (FAR) Report. Playlists can also be found at the Acoustic Harmony website, where you’ll also find archived interviews with some great independent folk artists as well as the calendar of upcoming scheduled shows and news of future guests.

So, tune in every other Saturday afternoon as Acoustic Harmony keeps the tradition of folk music alive, right here on WGDR/WGDH.

Calls from listeners are an integral aspect of “The Curse of the Golden Turnip.” Bring your questions, musings, preponderances, priorities and preferences to the live show any Sunday morning you are so inclined by calling 454-7762. Listeners steer this show with their questions and reflections, and are encouraged to participate. Alan usually starts the morning with some music (which doesn’t make it, intact, onto the web-posted podcasts) and works his way into full-on discussion mode by the time Bob’s weather report comes around.
