May19Sunday: 6:00 am – 9:00 am
Hosted by Allen LePage, Sunday mornings, 6am -9am
Music and gardening
Calls from listeners are an integral aspect of “The Curse of the Golden Turnip.” Bring your questions, musings, preponderances, priorities and preferences to the live show any Sunday morning you are so inclined by calling 454-7762. Listeners steer this show with their questions and reflections, and are encouraged to participate. Alan usually starts the morning with some music (which doesn’t make it, intact, onto the web-posted podcasts) and works his way into full-on discussion mode by the time Bob’s weather report comes around.

Prison Radio’s mission is to challenge unjust police and prosecutorial practices which result in mass incarceration, racism, and gender discrimination by airing the voices of men and women victimized by an unjust criminal justice system. We believe that when a person’s humanity is recognized, the public is able to make more informed choices on the direction of public policy. We do this by bringing their voices into the public dialogue on crime and punishment.
Our radio broadcasts help spur the public to examine core issues that create crime and heighten disenfranchisement. Our educational materials serve as a catalyst for public activism, strengthening movements for social change. Prison Radio’s productions illustrate the perspectives and the intrinsic human worth of the more than 7.1 million people under correctional control in the U.S, and those not served by the justicesystem.

May19Sunday: 7:15 pm – 9:00 pm
Hosted by Charles Rossell, alternating Sundays, 7:15PM – 9PM
u-Nameit could be about anything on any given Sunday. I do however tend to get into month-long themes. Every Febuary I play only black artists and activists, every March I play only women artists and activists. About once every six weeks I do an interview — call-ins welcomed! u-Nameit accepts and encourages requests of all kinds. On u-Nameit, you, the listener, are almost always able to determine the content of the show (if you so desire).
Blues, rock, hip-hop, country, Afro-beat, international, jazz, and folk are all featured on u-Nameit, with an ear often towards new releases. With luck I will warm up the listeners for the always excellent music program that follows as Jesse French closes out the weekend!
