News, Views and Reviews leads with headlines, moves into commentary, includes music, and sometimes shows how a feature story is portrayed through various news (and other) media.

Using a number of sources — state, local, national, and international — Renée covers the stories that may be of importance to those who care about participatory democracy, the health of the community and environment; who want to understand the role of media in what we understand; and stories and events that might help us to act in ways that may influence others and/or public policy.
Renée has been involved with WGDR – one way or another – since the early 90s, beginning by filling in for a Sunday morning world music program. After three years as a research assistant and editor for a professor of mass media and analysis of news, it seemed important to share the information about how news is generated, especially developing patterns of news narratives, understanding a story based on sources cited (or not), and where to find what you probably won’t find in corporate media. Having raised five children in the Vermont folk music scene, Renée likes to play as much folk music in between news stories and commentaries as possible.
