Sometimes it seems the world is “going to hell in a hand basket” as environmental destruction, social degradation, political stagnation and economic collapse dominate the news. It is hard not to give in to despair. But you are not alone in your concerns and there are many people and organizations struggling to turn the tide; you may be one of them.
Listen to Gathering Peace:
Gathering Peace by WGDR
Gathering Peace brings the good news of these local, regional,
national, and global struggles to the WGDR/WGDH listener community.
Every Tuesday morning Gathering Peace invites you to participate in
discussions with people engaged in the work of peace, broadly defined.
Activists and organizers for social and economic justice, protection
and renewal of the natural environment and an end to militarism,
violent conflict and war discuss their work in depth. Listeners
receive information about how to get involved.
Guests on Gathering Peace often represent local organizations working
for positive social change in Vermont communities. Announcements of
local and national events and discussions of listener- initiated
topics often enrich the community experience of Gathering Peace.
Gathering Peace connects local and global issues to help provide depth
to your understanding and insight into how your actions can contribute
to the larger movement for justice and peace. Together we can
contradict despair, instill hope, and be a catalyst for action.
